Wazzup 2008
One of the first big viral videos from back in the day gets a 2008 treatment. I wonder how we sent it around back then in the pre-Youtube era? I forgot.

I think this is very cool.
Not much updates on my blog lately, its all work and no play for me these days. Working on some nice projects, which I can hopefully blog about soon :)
The volatility of the stock markets is so strong even internet can’t keep up!
I just checked the frontpage of a certain dutch newspaper which headlined:

(heavy losses on the stockmarket) ..then, on clickthrough to read the entire article, the headline changes to..

(the stockmarkets are making a nosedive up).
Now I’m confused.
Good news from the Kong Suites! We won 2 Gold (for Nuon Security) and 1 Silver (for Oxfam Blogsfam) at the 2008 W³ awards. See the complete list of Gold, Silver and Best of Show winners here. Some nice and inspiring work to be found there - like this mockad by agency Amnesia from Australia.

The W³ in a nuttshell:
The W³ is sanctioned and judged by the IAVA (International Academy of the Visual Arts), an invitation-only body consisting of top-tier professionals from a “Who’s Who” of acclaimed media, interactive, advertising, and marketing firms. IAVA members include executives from organizations such as Conde Nast, Coach, Disney, The Ellen Degeneres Show, Estee Lauder, Fry Hammond Barr, HBO, Monster.com, MTV, Polo Ralph Lauren, Sotheby’s Institute of Art, Victoria Secret, Wired, Yahoo! and many others. The W³ are sponsored by Advertising Age.
Cool.
A circuit board with six batteries inside a magazine cover: interesting but not really a huge step forward (yet) from cover holographics that used to come with early videogame magazines like C+VG back in the eighties..
Not very ‘green’ either.
Good news for Xbox360 owners: A new standalone Halo 3 campaign will be released on DVD in fall 2009. Here’s a new updated trailer that was released on Tokyo Game Show a few days ago.
If you’ve seen the previous trailer skip straight to 1:36,

There’s been a few sites showing ‘logo evolution’ lately but this one here has got some nice ones I had not seen before.
