Interesting article from Kevin Kelly:

I’m Diggin’ This Birdbox

CCTV Birdbox by Cèline Shenton is a birdbox that looks like a CCTV camera. It works just like a dummy camera, but on closer inspection, it offers a great refuge for birds in need of a new home. Inside the box is a little camera that films the activities in the nest, so that avid nature watchers can watch the flighty comings and goings.

Article For Adformatie (Correct Version)
I’ve been asked to write an article for dutch ad-mag Adformatie about the similarities and differences between the Art Directors Club and Spinawards here in Holland. After I did a final check-before-going-to-press the editor made a big error by replacing the word ‘Goeiemoogle’ with ‘Goeiemoggel’ (here’s a blogpost that explains the Goeiemoggel campaign and the fact that Kong only did the online bit).

‘Hors categorie’ …I wonder what that means?
Anyhow, here’s the right version (in dutch, but with these nifty hyperlinks that everyone’s talking about):

Big RobotDog
Meet BigDog, its the alpha male of the Boston Dynamics family of robots.
It is a quadruped robot that walks, runs, and climbs on rough terrain and carries heavy loads. BigDog is powered by a gasoline engine that drives a hydraulic actuation system. BigDog’s legs are articulated like an animal’s, and have compliant elements that absorb shock and recycle energy from one step to the next. BigDog is the size of a large dog or small mule, measuring 1 meter long, 0.7 meters tall and 75 kg weight.
The thing is built by Boston Dynamics and funded by the DARPA Defense Sciences Office so who knows where this might turn up.
