Audio Surf - Ride Your Music

Audiosurf is a game in which you can “surf” on any music you have. The game automatically generates a 3D track from the music that you choose. Most audio formats are supported.

Looks like Guitar Hero humping Tetris on steroids: Fun. Its available for about $10 on Steam.

Nice WWF Print Ad

I’m liking this clever ad for WWF by agency NAME from Rome (click to enlarge).

MI:7

Its nice to buy music software. Its good for karma and sometimes gets you invites to seminars and workshops and stuff. I’m a registered user of both Reason and Ableton Live for quite a few years now and got an invitation for the MI:7 Music Event yesterday in Rotterdam, where I watched a few presentations: Steinberg on Mastering (interesting), SSL with their new Duende DSP (salespitch) and Reason 4 - new features ( messy presentation).

duotone.jpg

It was all merry but what really made the day for me was a presentation by Duotune, a producer-duo from Amsterdam. Its so nice to see people talk about stuff they really love - they ran down the new features in Ableton Live 7 but also showed some of their own tricks and hacks in production / engineering. I haven’t had the time yet to properly listen to their music but you can grab some of their stuff from Beatport.com - just search for Duotone.

GTA IV: It Is Actually Happening

Rockstar has just released an official site for Grand Theft Auto IV. Not a trailer. Not a teaser. It’s actually happening: on shelves April 29.

Adfoblog / The One Second Super Bowl Ad

One second of commercial airtime during the Superbowl will cost you a whopping $100,000. But that didn’t stop Eels from making a one second ad for their new album ‘Useless Trinkets’. The ad has the band’s frontman Mark Everett saying “EELS - U(..)”. Now let’s see if the blogosphere will give this investment a bit of leverage.

Just make sure you don’t blink when you play this clip!

Update from the band:

“In the end we were told that the NFL would have to find 29 other advertisers to buy one second spots to fill a standard 30 second advertising slot and that they do not sell advertising time by the second,” explained frontman E. “They also noted that a rapid fire 30 second segment of 30 one second commercials could cause people with certain medical conditions to have seizures and that it was against network regulations.”

How Much Does It Buy

howmuch.jpg

Sometimes I see numbers that are so large that it can’t really imagine what they relate to. A while ago I posted an entry on the amount of money Youtube got sold for (about 8 of these piles).

Today I stumbled upon howmuchdoestitbuy.com, and learned that Google could have bought 51,500,000.00 beers for their staff instead of buying Youtube, and with the amount Microsoft is offering Yahoo they could also consider picking up 147,000 A380 super jumbo jets.

Choices, choices..
