21st century graffiti

Spraycans are so pre-2k! Now is the time of the Graffitiprinter.

Adfoblog on 10

Adfoblog, the weblog of dutch advertising industrymag’ Adformatie, which I have been honored to blog for since it started in 2006, is apparently the 10th most refered-to blog in The Netherlands writes dutch newspaper NRC-next.

Thats pretty good I guess, although I wonder how airtight this all is - since the only source seems to be Google.

Firefox killed the bannerstar

AddArt is a Firefox extension which replaces advertising images on web pages with art images from a curated database (as spotted on Nathans’ blog earlier today).

www.spotthebull.co.uk goes live!

New from Poke for Orange: If you are in the UK and you want to go to the Glastonbury music festival but have no ticket, Derek is your man. I mean Bull.

One of the craziest projects I have ever worked on!

A Clockwork Orange - Live on stage

Tonight we were invited to go and see a theatre performance of A Clockwork Orange by Dutch theatre group D’electrique in Stadsschouwburg Amsterdam. It was Very Raw, Very Loud and Very Much In-Your-Face. A highly original take on a great story, and quite different from the film. Full of energy and highly enjoyable indeed. More info here.

Thanks for the invitation Sachiko!

The Visual Dictionary & Visual Twitter

Visual Dictionary is a collection of words in the real world. Photographs of signage, graffiti, advertising, tattoos, you name it, we’re trying to catalogue it”.

Make sure to check out Visual Twitter. Nice work from Webponce.

Houtlust a.k.a. Houtlog

Woodlust (?) is one of my favorite Dutch blogs. It’s solely harvesting nonprofit advertising and social campaigns from around the world, like this ad for the Canadian World Wildlife Fund from DraftFCB in Canada:

Its just a still image but the shadow from the sun makes it ‘dynamic’, which is not only cool, but quite clever too.

Adfoblog / Outdoor touchscreen Nokia

Waiting for the bus can be quite fun in London: How about playing a game of Memory on one of these outdoor ads for the Nokia N95?

Lucky day

So we were lucky today: Our favorite wineshop in the 9 straatjes area happened to have a * sommelier in the shop trying out some new wines.

We were invited to join in their quest - the sommelier and shop owner helped us choose some pretty good wines, one of the highlights being a mighty fine bottle of Chassagne-Montrachet Les Vergers Premier Cru. I really don’t know much about wines, but I do know what I like. Niceness.
